On December 1, 2019, Good News Outreach and Emergency Care Help Organization Outreach Ministries (“ECHO”) co-located in Midtown Tallahassee to better serve our community. Good News Outreach (1986) and ECHO (1981) have served Tallahassee and Leon County for a combined 74 years.”
These faith-based organizations are inclusive and serve people in dire need regardless of race, creed, color or any other factor. We operate with a market-based approach, with the philosophy that all people are worthy of respect and dignity, and are often capable of achieving greatly autonomy and self-sufficiency.
We also believe in the concept of synergy – the whole exceeds the sum of the parts and no single agency or ministry can meet all needs. ECHO provides skilled case managers trained in social work. These “life coaches” assess the needs of potential clients and help them create and execute
strategies to bring about lasting life change.
Good News provides affordable housing for children and families, hope for men returning from prison, and food and fellowship for low-income home bound seniors. Both agencies provide emergency food services on a walk in basis. We work strategically with many other non-profits and government agencies to help folks break the grip of multi-generational dysfunction and poverty. Many of our partners are listed below.
We are honored to serve Tallahassee and have a vision to see great things accomplished in the lives of those they serve.
